Lake Oconee is a Golfer’s Dream

FORE! No, Make that SIX!

That’s right. Lake Oconee has become a local golfer’s paradise and boasts six gorgeous championship courses designed by legends like Nicklaus, Weiskopf, Fazio, Cupp and more.

Georgia’s second-largest lake offers the ideal place to slow down, take deep breaths, and hit the links if you plan to make Lake Oconee your home.

If you’re interested in buying a home in this local golf haven, Karen would love to show you the abundant possibilities. Some of Karen’s clients are buying a future retirement home, others are looking for a second home, and some are looking for their forever

Below, a bit of information about each of the Lake Oconee courses…

The Harbor Club Golf Course

Since its opening in 1991, this Weiskopf/Morrish designed course has delighted members and earned a terrific reputation from golf critics. This is the only completely public golf course in Greensboro and was named one of the Southeast’s Top 50 Most Distinctive Courses by Golfweek Magazine.

The National Golf Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee

Designed by Tom Fazio in 2000 and recently renovated in 2014, The National course at Reynolds features three distinct nine-hole layouts fashioned from the richly colored textured “paints” of grass, sand, trees, and water found in the hardwood forests and rolling terrain of the region.

The Preserve Golf Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee

Recently renovated, this 6,698-yard, par-72 Preserve course was originally designed by noted architect Bob Cupp, along with U.S. Open Champions Fuzzy Zoeller and Hubert Green. The Preserve course takes advantage of the natural rolling topography with the end result being an immensely playable course, with back tees challenging enough for low handicappers and forward tees forgiving enough for beginners.

Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee

A Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course that introduced the Golden Bear’s design work to Lake Oconee in 1992, Great Waters has a dramatic layout that offers some of the most breathtaking golf scenery in the Southeast. Consistently ranked among the top 100 courses in the nation, Great Waters earned the distinction from LINKS magazine as one of the “10 most significant and influential courses of the past two decades.

The Landing Golf Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee

In 1986, The Landing made its debut, setting the stage for what has become a premier golf destination. Renovated in 2013, the 7,048-yard, par-72 course, was designed by award-winning architect Bob Cupp and features a variety of holes that wind through naturally wooded areas and rolling hills.

The Oconee Golf Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee

Defined by a dramatic routing along the Lake Oconee shoreline, this Rees Jones design is a true risk/reward layout. The Oconee course offers inspiring lake views while presenting options to play shots over inlets of Lake Oconee or carry corners of tree-lined doglegs.

And if those six courses aren’t enough to get your golf blood flowing, there’s always the state-of-the-art game improvement center (The Kingdom at Reynolds Lake Oconee) inspired by the rich golf traditions of Atlanta and the legendary heritage of Augusta. The 16-acre, 6,550 square foot private campus frames a flexible and creative academy adaptable to golfers of all levels. Students enjoy full access to an expansive practice range, four indoor hitting bays, three covered bays and putting studio, an unrivaled outdoor short game practice area for chipping and putting, as well as dining and classroom facilities.

Aside from improving the swings, and games of thousands, The Kingdom also offers guests the integration of superior equipment technology with their golf instruction… including Taylor Made Club Fitting.

This experience, once only available for TaylorMade tour professionals and invited guests, is now available to any guest looking to add a perfectly fitted club in their hands to play their best golf. Our TaylorMade tour club fitters offer one-on-one consultations that synchronize the proper equipment with your personal swing specifications to help create optimal performance.
