History

According to the City of Milton Web Site, on March 9, 2006, the bill creating the new city of Milton overwhelmingly passed in the house and the senate. At 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, Governor Sonny Perdue signed the bill declaring Milton a city. On July 18, 2006, 85 percent of voters approved the City of Milton referendum.

Milton has a population of more than 38,000 and is considered a wonderful place to live. Considered an equestrian community, there is no shortage of horse farms and picturesque rolling pastures.

Location

Milton covers 23,000 acres. It includes the northwest unincorporated island, bordered by Cherokee County to the north and west; Forsyth County to the east; Roswell city limits to the southwest (a little west of Arnold Mill Road); Alpharetta city limits to the south (roughly, Mayfield Road to Cogburn Road to Windward Parkway).

Schools

Offering a median home value of $475,000, the area is definitely considered upscale. There are multiple golf course neighborhoods like Crooked Creek, The Manor and Atlanta National. Additionally there are a wide range of neighborhoods a lot of which are on 1 + acre lots.
