Living in Downtown Alpharetta: Is It for You?
History
In 2003, residents and business owners sat down to develop a plan to revitalize downtown Alpharetta. Today, we are seeing the fruits of their labor! The plan made a huge impact on Downtown Alpharetta. The Alpharetta City Center was born, changes were made to the Hwy 9 and Haynes Bridge Road streetscapes, and planned social events exploded all to draw people in to a new downtown.
Today
You just have to drive through or better still, walk through to see that the encore phase of that plan is well underway. Frankly it is and continues to be radically transformed. The area is now alive with 25 unique stores and shops. Offerings include clothing for both men and women, home décor and accessories and salons and spas. The restaurants are just as numerous and varied. There are more than 30 Chef Driven and locally owned restaurants serving everything imaginable.
The entertainment scene is also one of the most dynamic in the state. There are Main Street Market events including Farmers Markets, festivals, and live music. Planners have done an excellent job bringing in so much to do for the entire family.
Housing has exploded offering everything from high end condos and single family homes to apartment living. There’s a massive amount of new construction. However, there are also some existing neighborhoods with established homes and larger lots that offer walking distance proximity to all that the new downtown Alpharetta has to offer.
