The Holidays are synonymous with holiday parties and get-togethers with friends and family. But this year, and for the vast majority of us, this season is going to be radically different.

With travel restrictions in place, and historic health concerns, how do we connect with those we love? Well, just as we’ve learned to work from home over the past few months, wear masks everywhere we have to go, and minimize our trips to the stores, we can get still get together with our friends and family members to celebrate… just not in the same way.

Virtual Ideas

Let’s Cook

Food and favorite recipes are huge holiday staples. Signature dishes are traditions that sometimes have been around for generations. This year, create a recipe share asking everyone to write down their favorites and then share as a google document, or compile in drop box or whatever app works best. Someone can compile and organize them and to create an electronic book everyone can share. Individual families can then create the family recipes and take photos. Then when the holidays of 2021 roll around, you can publish an on-line of printed Family Recipe Book to distribute as gifts!

Connecting Virtually

Zoom, Meet Up, Google Hang Out are the necessary apps of 2020, so why not use it to bring everyone together during a quiet or prayer time, or have everyone comment on what they are most thankful for. You can also have Zoom on when opening gets from the person who has sent them.

Let’s Play

You can also use these apps to play games virtually!
