Greensboro was founded in 1786 and named for Georgia’s Revolutionary War hero, Nathanael Greene. The town, touched by King Cotton, the Civil War, the boll weevil, and the Great Depression always forged new beginnings.

5 Shop. Shop. Shop.
Downtown offers all sorts of charming shops including clothing boutiques, jewelers, and an antique mall that is packed with treasures.

5. Stay in a Historic Home.
Goodwin Manor Bed and Breakfast is just one of Greensboro’s restored historic homes, dating back to 1908. Turned into an inn, the property is set around a pecan orchard.

6. Try Camping or Glamping
Lake Oconee KOA
RVs and tents are welcome at Lake Oconee KOA, a 55-acre site with a seasonal swimming pool, clubhouse and lake access. There are also 23 boxcars where guests can stay, complete with full beds and kitchens.

Old Salem Campground is another option for campers with water hookups, electricity and tent sites. The park has boat ramps, picnic tables and pavilions, swimming beaches and bathhouses.
